Aformic has raised $6.95 million to expand its factory and warehouse robot business, lead investor Veteran Ventures Capital announced on November 4. The company builds autonomous vehicles for moving materials and software for coordinating their work.

## The big change

- The robots target transport between workstations, leaving assembly itself to factory staff.
- Aformic describes lidar-based navigation and a fleet manager that assigns and coordinates trips.
- The funding backs expansion plans; reported customer use and efficiency claims have not been independently tested here.

## Moving materials around a plant

[Veteran Ventures](https://veteranventures.us/news/veteran-ventures-capital-leads-aformic-seed-investment) says the seed round is Aformic's first institutional financing. The investor says it customizes underride robots and autonomous forklifts.

Aformic CEO Michal Fiuk told [Tectonic Defense](https://www.tectonicdefense.com/exclusive-aformic-raises-6-95m-led-by-veteran-ventures/) that the company intends to scale production and expand its customer base, particularly in defense. He offered an automotive plant as an illustration: robots could carry components between stages toward assembly. That is an explanation of the intended workflow, not an independently verified productivity result.

A handoff inside a factory involves more than driving a vehicle from one point to another. Jobs must be assigned and routes coordinated with other traffic and the production systems requesting materials. The value to an operator depends on how those connections work in its own building, alongside people and other vehicles.

## Navigation and coordination

[Aformic's product information](https://aformic.com/) describes its F-series vehicles using lidar-based simultaneous localization and mapping, or SLAM, with safety scanners. The company says the robots use a project map, update their view of the surroundings and can seek alternate paths around obstacles. These are vendor descriptions, not measured safety or navigation guarantees.

Its Qursor software is designed to allocate tasks, plan paths and monitor a fleet. Tectonic's interview similarly describes coordination with factory systems. Aformic says integrations can create transport orders from production systems; what a particular installation supports depends on its configuration and has not been tested by BIG CHANGE.

The investor and CEO describe expansion ambitions, including defense manufacturing. Neither source provides an independent assessment of field performance or identifies the defense customers described by the CEO. The financing does not itself demonstrate that a future deployment will be faster, safer or cheaper.
