General Compute [said on October 27](https://www.generalcompute.com/blog/general-compute-100m-series-a) that it raised a $100 million Series A co-led by Blackbird and Abstract. Its first **major** inference deployments are planned for Q1 2027; the company describes more than 50 MW as a capacity pipeline.

## The big change

- **What changed:** New equity joins an earlier staged equipment loan and chip agreements.
- **Why it matters:** General Compute's planned dedicated hardware lets buyers seek inference capacity without owning the machines.
- **What to watch:** Cerebras and Positron customer capacity is targeted for Q1 2027. Actual availability and measured results will show what those plans deliver.

## The funding pays for different stages

The Series A is distinct from the Upper90 debt facility that General Compute [announced on July 17](https://www.webwire.com/ViewPressRel.asp?aId=357796). That facility begins at $100 million and can scale with customer demand to **$400 million**. The upper limit is not a report that the full amount has been drawn. The July release does not disclose the schedule or terms for later funding.

The same release says General Compute secured more than $300 million of price-protected hardware supply. A supply agreement is not an installed fleet. In a [September 29 post](https://www.generalcompute.com/blog/general-compute-cerebras-multi-year-agreement), the company called its multiyear Cerebras deal the first deployment drawn against the Upper90 facility and set Q1 2027 as the customer opening, initially for coding agents. Its [October 20 Positron post](https://www.generalcompute.com/blog/general-compute-positron-ai-partnership) targets the same quarter for Atlas availability and separately commits to a later Titan generation. Neither announcement reports how many megawatts of those systems are operating now.

General Compute's [product page](https://www.generalcompute.com/) describes a service that pairs GPUs processing prompts with specialized chips generating output tokens. It offers dedicated servers or a tokens-per-second service-level agreement; neither specifies performance observed on a buyer's workload.

## Pipeline power and available service

The product page puts “over 30 MW of capacity” near “Live” and says deployments go live from Q1 2027. Those words do not show 30 MW of current customer service. Its [white paper](https://www.generalcompute.com/white-paper) says SambaNova production traffic runs today but gives no operating MW total.

The [pricing page](https://www.generalcompute.com/pricing) offers a tailored rate card and capacity date after a workload request, with model and traffic among its inputs. Buyers can use that response to distinguish available capacity from a companywide pipeline.

BIG CHANGE has not tested General Compute's service or independently verified its installed capacity or workload performance.
