# OpenAI changes personal Pro usage limits

OpenAI’s [October 29 update](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/6825453-chatgpt-release-notes) doubles the previous Work and Codex allowances for Pro 100 and Pro 500. Lower-allowance Pro 200 subscribers also get double; those already on the higher allowance keep it. The planned Pro 200 reduction, covered in our [earlier report](https://bigchange.ai/blog/openai-pro-500-astra-ultrafast-guide), is cancelled.

## What this means

Work and Codex share an allowance: using either leaves less for the other. Consumption varies by model, task and settings; check Settings → Usage for remaining usage and reset times. OpenAI gives no absolute quantities for these increases. We did not test accounts.

The [Pro tiers page](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/9793128-about-chatgpt-pro-tiers) says the update is automatic. The lower Pro 200 weekly Chat limit for GPT-6 Pro also rises to match the higher limit; Chat limits are separate.
