# UfiSpace shows liquid-cooled 1.6T switch at OCP summit

> UfiSpace demonstrated an early-access 102.4 Tbps switch with liquid cooling at OCP. The public material establishes a live demo, not a deployed or independently measured data-center system.

UfiSpace [announced on October 14](https://www.prnewswire.com/apac/news-releases/ufispace-demonstrates-1-6t-ai-fabric-thermal-feasibility-with-live-liquid-cooling-platform-at-ocp-global-summit-2026--302907418.html) that it was running a liquid-cooled Ethernet switch with a coolant distribution unit (CDU) at the October 12 to 15 OCP Global Summit. The company calls the setup a live engineering demonstration and the switch a “validation-ready early access architecture.” It does not describe a customer deployment or publish measured results for the finished system.

## The big change

- **What changed:** UfiSpace showed a 64-port, 1.6 Tbps-per-port switch operating with a CDU. The demonstration is the public evidence for this liquid-cooled design's current stage.
- **Why it matters:** A planner evaluating dense AI networking must account for the switch and the rack's cooling connections together. OCP's [cooling work](https://www.opencompute.org/projects/cooling-environments/) treats CDUs, cold plates and manifolds as parts of that system.
- **What to watch:** The evaluation turns on published system measurements and qualification evidence. UfiSpace's announcement supplies no temperatures, coolant flow or pressure data, power draw, traffic results, or rack qualification report for this switch.

## What the 1.6T and 102.4T figures mean

UfiSpace identifies the demonstrated S9331-64HO3L as a two-unit Open Rack V3 (ORv3) platform with 64 OSFP ports rated at 1.6 Tbps each. Multiplying the stated port count by the per-port rate gives 102.4 Tbps of aggregate port bandwidth. That is the stated switching-capacity class, not a report of traffic carried during the demonstration. The [Broadcom Tomahawk 6](https://investors.broadcom.com/news-releases/news-release-details/broadcom-ships-tomahawk-6-worlds-first-1024-tbps-switch) is the switch ASIC inside UfiSpace's platform; Broadcom describes 102.4 Tbps of Ethernet switching on a single chip. The ASIC announcement does not measure this finished liquid-cooled system.

The company says the switch operated with a CDU and claims this validates thermal feasibility. Its release gives no workload, test duration, inlet or component temperatures, coolant conditions, power measurement or independent results. It also gives no price, order date or customer deployment for the liquid-cooled model. UfiSpace separately showed a three-rack-unit air-cooled 102.4 Tbps platform, but supplied no matched comparison from which to judge the two cooling approaches.

## The rack question remains open

ORv3 describes a rack architecture; it does not, by itself, certify the demonstrated switch's cooling loop. An [OCP white paper on rack manifolds](https://www.opencompute.org/documents/ocp-white-paper-rack-manifold-requirements-and-qualification-v3-pdf) explains why: manifold interfaces, flow distribution, operating conditions and testing affect whether a liquid-cooling assembly can be qualified for a rack. It offers guidance and recommended tests, not a qualification result for UfiSpace.

The demonstration therefore gives operators a concrete architecture to examine: port density, a Tomahawk 6 ASIC and liquid cooling in an ORv3 form factor. A deployment decision still needs the switch's measured network and thermal behavior under defined conditions, along with evidence that the cooling assembly fits and passes the intended rack's requirements. None of those results is public in the cited materials.
