Cloudflare’s October 21 Commerce.com account describes browser shopping tools with merchant opt-out and shopper checkout.
The big change
Commerce.com enables the WebMCP bridge on a shared Cloudflare zone. A hostname metadata rule omits the script for opted-out stores. Its /api/mcp path connects the shopper’s storefront session to Commerce.com’s tool server. The agent can request a checkout link; the shopper completes the purchase.
Access and limits
BigCommerce’s WebMCP reference says Stencil and Cloudflare-hosted Catalyst storefronts get the bridge by default. Shopping tools require the owner to enable Storefront MCP and accept its terms. Cloudflare-hosted headless sites need support assistance. The merchant’s opt-out can take a couple of days to finish.
WebMCP remains experimental, with Chrome and Edge in preview. BigCommerce warns that content security policy can block the bridge; Cloudflare says a failed MCP server leaves the storefront usable. The cited pages give no separate price or verified security or conversion results. BIG CHANGE did not test a store.
Shopify’s browser checkout tools require buyer approval for order submission.
