Meta’s Waddle World gives adults a pixel pet that turns a spoken or typed account of their day into an illustrated journal entry. The app is listed on the Philippine App Store and Google Play, and Meta says it is free to play. Its privacy disclosures leave an important distinction for anyone considering a personal diary: keeping entries out of other people’s view is not the same question as how the company processes information.

The app drew coverage on October 28. That is not a verified launch date: Apple lists versions dated October 8, while Google Play shows an October 27 update. BIG CHANGE reviewed the listings and product website, but did not install or test the app.

## The big change

- Waddle World puts AI-assisted journaling inside a virtual-pet routine, turning personal updates into illustrated entries.
- Meta says the journal and pet messages are not shared with other people unless the user chooses to share a postcard. That is a statement about visibility; the store privacy labels separately describe categories of information that may be collected or used for different purposes.
- For someone deciding what to share, the practical boundary is the content of the entry itself. The listings do not establish whether a particular entry is used for advertising or model training, so a reader cannot infer either practice from the labels alone.

## A pet that writes about your day

According to [Meta’s Google Play description](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meta.waddle), a user hatches a pet, looks after it and can tell it about their day by voice or text. The pet makes an illustrated entry in its own voice. Games, a daily question and weekly postcards offer other activities.

That makes the journal different from a blank notebook: the saved account is generated from what a person shares, rather than necessarily being their exact words. Someone who wants a precise record should read the entry before relying on it as a record of what they said. This is a product description, not an independent test of the quality of the writing or memory.

The [product website](https://waddleworld.app/) says stamps are earned in the app and spent on pet items, with no subscription or purchased stamps. Its site says users can export their content and account data, or delete their account and associated data in Settings. BIG CHANGE did not verify those controls in the app.

## Waddle World access and requirements

Both store descriptions say users must be 18 or older. The [Philippine Apple listing](https://apps.apple.com/ph/app/waddle-world-ai-pet-journal/id6809943562) shows an 18+ rating and requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone. Google Play displays an Everyone content rating on the page we viewed, but the description still states the adult eligibility requirement. The rating and the developer’s eligibility rule are separate pieces of information.

The listing alone does not establish the full list of supported countries. Google Play’s page is visible on the web but a visible listing does not establish download eligibility for every account or location. [TechCrunch reported on October 28](https://techcrunch.com/2026/10/28/meta-has-a-new-ai-pet-app-called-waddle-world/) that the app was available in the Philippines. Wider availability and expansion plans remain unclear from the evidence reviewed.

## Private from other people does not settle processing

Meta’s product website says a journal and the pet’s messages are not shared with other people unless the user chooses to share a postcard. That describes social visibility. A postcard is therefore a deliberate sharing choice, while the separate question is what information the service handles in providing the experience.

On Apple’s listing, Meta’s developer-supplied privacy label says information that may be collected and linked to identity includes audio and other user content. Those categories appear under third-party advertising and the developer’s advertising or marketing, as well as other purposes. Apple says it has not verified the developer’s disclosure. The label does not identify a particular journal entry as advertising data or show that it was used in an ad.

Google Play’s developer-supplied data safety section says the app may share app activity and device or other identifiers with third parties, may collect categories including location and personal information, encrypts data in transit and permits deletion requests. These are declarations about possible practices, not a measurement of what happened to a specific user’s data. The two stores organize their disclosures differently, so their labels should not be treated as identical descriptions of the same event.

The app-specific privacy address in the Play description was inaccessible when BIG CHANGE attempted to read it. The reviewed material does not establish whether entries train AI models or how long an entry is retained. That uncertainty matters before putting sensitive details into a service that produces and may refer back to personal updates; the visible privacy statement about sharing postcards does not answer those separate questions.
