Phaze has raised $8.75 million in seed funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, the company [announced](https://phaze.app/blog/) on November 4. It aims to make powerful computers accessible remotely to people and AI agents.

## The big change

- Phaze says employees and agents can connect to workstations rather than each having a dedicated machine.
- Its experimental MCP server gives compatible agents a way to operate a permitted computer and hand control to a person.
- The promised efficiency is not an independently measured result.

## Sharing workstations

Phaze's [product overview](https://phaze.app/) says people use remote desktops while agents access permitted computers through a desktop or command line. Administrators assign machines and permissions; agents inherit their user's access rights.

For teams using specialised applications, hardware and operating-system requirements can constrain where work runs. Investor [Andreessen Horowitz](https://a16z.com/announcement/investing-in-phaze/) argues remote access can also help agents reach those applications. That is the investor's rationale, not an independent performance assessment.

## Where the agent fits

In a [September demonstration](https://phaze.app/blog/phaze-mcp-computer-use-it-support/), Phaze described an experimental Model Context Protocol (MCP) server used with an IT-support agent. The company said a human support worker could take over and return control; in its example, a worker entered the user's password.

BIG CHANGE has not tested the product, permission controls, responsiveness or claimed savings. A remote connection alone does not establish that an agent completes a task correctly.
