XPeng plans to open European orders for its G9L SUV at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, when it will disclose the price. Visitors will also be able to book supervised rides in two L03 vehicles equipped with its NGP driving system. Those are separate steps: one puts a new car on sale, while the other lets a limited number of people see a driving system at work on open roads. Neither establishes that NGP is available to European owners.
## The big change
- **What changed:** XPeng is moving its G9L from a September launch in China to European orders, while bringing its NGP system into a public European ride program. The two developments give visitors a nearer view of the company's vehicle and driving plans, at different stages of readiness.
- **Why it matters:** Buyers will get a price and a way to order the G9L. The L03 rides give European visitors an early supervised encounter with NGP, but a booked demonstration does not make the software an owner feature or establish how it performs across local roads.
- **What to watch:** The Paris price and order terms will define the G9L offer. For NGP, the useful next evidence is XPeng's country-by-country release terms, driver-supervision rules and independently observed performance beyond the show route.
## A launch with a price still to come
XPeng [launched the G9L in China in September](https://www.xpeng.com/news/01a0b28348fba0a92b028a028c610051) and said it intends to introduce the model in 64 countries and regions. Its [Paris announcement](https://www.xpeng.com/news/01a0f7644454a0e70a9e8a02823600e0) says European order books will open and prices will be announced on October 12. Until then, there is no announced European price in those releases to weigh against the specification. The company has not given a European customer delivery date in either announcement.
The G9L is a large SUV: XPeng gives its length as 5,120 millimeters and its wheelbase as 3,100 millimeters. It says the model has battery-electric and range-extended versions, without specifying which each European market will receive.
Local production has also moved one step beyond an announcement. In an [October 7 update](https://www.xpeng.com/pressroom/news/01a114ecf0f9a0e70a9e8a02823600fc), XPeng said the G9L had completed its first production trial at Magna's plant in Graz, Austria. The company described the car due to travel from Graz to Paris as a *pre-production* vehicle. That is evidence of a trial build at the Austrian site, not a published timetable or volume for series production. XPeng says G6, G9 and P7+ vehicles are already produced there; the G9L would be the fourth model in that program.
XPeng also reports extensive G9L testing: approximately 6.74 million kilometers of road validation across 26 countries and regions and 192 crash tests. Those are company figures. Its statement that the vehicle was *engineered to meet* four five-star safety standards describes a design target. It does not identify an awarded Euro NCAP, ANCAP or other independent rating for the G9L. Readers can judge those claims more firmly when results from the relevant testing organizations are available.
## What the NGP rides will show
XPeng says it will bring its NGP driving system to the show's Autonomous Lab in the L03 SUV coupe, not the G9L. The [show organizer's test-center description](https://mondial.paris/actualites/auto-mondial/mondial-de-l-auto-2026-plus-de-5-000-essais-prevus-pour-le-centre-dessais-91977.html) lists two XPeng L03 vehicles and describes the open-road experience as **supervised automated driving**. The organizer places the lab in Hall 7.1, Gate H, with reservations and 25-minute slots; XPeng's display and October 12 press conference are at Booth A51 in Hall 6. The show runs October 12–18, while the organizer says public test-center rides run October 13–18.
That venue setup is more concrete than XPeng's broader claim that its VLA 2.0 driving model can generalize quickly across regions. A booked ride could reveal how one supervised demonstration behaves on its route and under its conditions. It cannot establish reliability across European roads, permissions for customer use or the absence of a human supervisor. The show's promotional description calls the experience “autonomous,” but its own account says the driving is supervised. XPeng's release says European localization work is still under way to adapt the technology to local roads, traffic and regulation. It gives no date or country list for general NGP availability to European owners.
XPeng says it and Tesla are the only automakers in the official Autonomous Lab. The announced rides are not a controlled comparison: routes, supervision, vehicles and software conditions would have to be documented before any performance difference could be inferred.
## A wider display, with different timelines
At its Hall 6 stand, XPeng plans to show other vehicles alongside humanoid robots and flying-car work. The company says it is working toward mass production of its IRON robot and developing robotaxi technology. These exhibits explain its “physical AI” pitch: XPeng wants vehicle software, robotics and other mobility products to share parts of a technology base. The Paris program does not turn those plans into commercial robot deployments or a driverless ride service.
For visitors, the immediate facts will be the G9L's announced European price and order terms, the vehicle shown on the stand, and any supervised L03 ride they can reserve. The longer test is whether XPeng follows that show access with customer deliveries, published safety results and clearly defined NGP availability in Europe.
