Suno Voices lets you make a song with a profile built from your own recorded vocal. The useful test comes after generation: listen to the song beside the source recording and decide whether the singer actually resembles you. This guide follows Suno’s public instructions, checked on 25 October 2026. BIG CHANGE did not enroll a Voice, generate a song, hear an output or measure a charge in an account.

The big change

  • What changed: Suno’s verified Voices workflow remains available as the service moves new songs to its v6 model family.
  • Why it matters: A creator can select a saved profile of their own voice for a song, then judge the returned vocals against the original recording.
  • What to watch: Access, Voice and model compatibility, the displayed credit cost and the final likeness depend on the actual account and result.

Prepare a recording and check access

You need an adult account that offers Voices, a recording of your own voice, and lyrics or other material you have permission to use. Suno lists Pro and Premier access and limited Free access; it also says Voices may be unavailable in some locations and to people under 18. If Add Voice or Create Voice is missing in your signed-in Create form, check your account’s access or Suno support before going further. A Style Persona, Custom Model or ordinary audio upload does not substitute for the verified Voice profile in this procedure. Suno’s Voices page describes the access and selection path.

Record a clear vocal take in a quiet room, ideally without accompaniment. Sing in the style or language you intend to use. Suno says a built-in microphone is enough. Its current product page asks for at least 10 seconds; the May Voices manual says 15 seconds to four minutes and describes selecting the best two minutes. A take of at least 15 seconds and no more than four minutes fits both published lower bounds and the manual’s upper bound. That is a preparation choice, not a claim about a universal current minimum. Obey the limits your account shows.

Before generating, note your credit balance and the cost displayed in Create. Suno’s September v6 FAQ says a standard generation returns two songs for 10 credits; Max Mode and extra media can cost more. The FAQ does not establish the charge for your particular Voice attempt. Check the form before submitting and the balance afterward.

Create and verify your Voice

  1. Open Create → Add Voice → Create Voice in your eligible account. Suno’s official v6 transition tutorial shows a + Voice entry, My Voices, and a Create Voice recording or upload route. The Voices manual documents the same task. Use the controls actually present in your account.
  2. Record, upload or select a library recording containing your own vocal. Preview it. Listen for the correct singer, a clean start and end, and enough audible voice to represent your intended delivery. Replace a wrong, clipped or heavily masked take before continuing.
  3. Read the exact phrase shown aloud for the spoken identity check. Wait for the result. If verification fails, check the source recording, microphone access and room noise, then use Suno’s offered retry or support route. Do not proceed with another person’s recording. Suno says it compares the phrase with the submitted vocal. Verification guidance.
  4. Select and listen to the representative section that will define the profile. The May manual describes choosing the best two minutes; the current product page places trimming after verification, whereas the manual describes preview and selection earlier. Follow your account’s prompts and complete both selection and verification before saving. Give the Voice a recognizable name, confirm the rights statement truthfully and save it.

Select the Voice and make a song

  1. In Create, check that the saved Voice you just verified is selected. If you return later, find it under Add Voice → My Voices. Enter lyrics you may use, a style description and a title. Keep the Voice visibly attached as you set up the song. The May manual also describes Audio Influence as a likeness control. If your form offers it, record the starting setting so a later comparison has a baseline; its presence and effect have not been tested here.
  2. Check the model shown in the form and whether Create accepts that model with the Voice still selected. Suno says all pre-v6 models are retired, while its September tutorial shows Voices continuing in the new generation. Its model-picker guide lists v6, v6-wild and v6-mini but only says to use a compatible model for Voices. It gives no Voice compatibility table by variant and promises no automatic switch. Older instructions to choose a literal “Voice model” or v5.5 are therefore unreliable for this step. If Voice disappears, the form reports incompatibility, or the compatible choice is unclear, stop before spending credits and consult current Suno guidance or support. Do not choose variants at random. When the Voice, model, lyrics, style and displayed cost are clear, submit Create once. Note the model, any Audio Influence setting, the returned songs and the actual credit change. A stalled or uncertain submission calls for checking the result and balance before any retry.

Compare the result with your own recording

  1. Play each returned song, then replay the original vocal section you used for the profile. Compare the lead singer’s tone and accent with your recording. Listen for clear words, the intended pronunciation, unwanted additional voices and whether the arrangement serves the lyrics. Write down a line or timestamp for any problem. These are listening checks for you to perform; Suno’s descriptions cannot establish the likeness of a song you have not heard.
  2. Keep a take only if it passes your checks. If the voice is weakly matched, reconsider the clean section you selected and, if offered, the Audio Influence setting. If words or arrangement are the problem, revise your permitted lyrics or style. Check the next displayed cost before another generation, keep the same Voice selected, and compare the new pair against the same original recording. If the profile or compatible route vanishes, return to that stop point.
  3. A saved Voice profile is private to its creator, according to Suno’s product page. Songs using it need a separate sharing decision: Suno says others can remix or cover one if you publish it or share its direct link and enable remixing in Publish options. Review those settings before sharing. Suno’s ownership FAQ says songs made while subscribed to Pro or Premier carry commercial-use rights under its terms, while Free songs are noncommercial. That platform rule does not grant rights to someone else’s voice, recording or lyrics, or settle copyright questions. Check the plan you held when the song was made and the current terms. Download credits are separate from generation credits; Suno lists 20 monthly downloads for Pro and 60 for Premier, with Free trial access varying by join date.

For a separate full-song workflow that does not enroll your own vocal, see our Gemini Lyria song guide. This task is complete when you can point to the saved, verified Voice; the selected Voice and recorded settings for the Create attempt; its actual songs and charge; and a source-to-song listening decision. If any of those pieces is missing, record the precise stop and resolve it before claiming a successful own-voice song.
